Halloween Theme Birthday: A Frightful Night to Remember
When your “boo” and best “witch” are coming up on their 30s, you don’t just stir the cauldron, you fire up a monster mash of a birthday bash. Finding a joint theme between my card-hoarding, Pokemon-pursuing spouse and my glammed-up, Chanel-clasping best friend was like fishing for a sea monster in a ghost pond. How did we manage? A little magic!
But, thanks to the looming shadow of Halloween, we found our grinning pumpkin idea, and we gave a bone-chilling farewell to their 20s. We conjured both worlds: spine-tingling skeletons for my husband’s geeky gusto and a flowery finesse for Lexi’s chic charm.
Welcome Dearies

Spine-tingling Backdrops
The spectral soiree’s showstopper was the spine-tingling backdrop – a 10-hour craft of love and sweat, but oh-so-worth it. With over 300 pieces eerily attached to this 8ft x 8ft wooden frame, it became the phantom of our halloween theme birthday. The addition of purple and pink flowers gave it a dash of life among the undead, but trust me, it’s ghastly glam with just the skeletons!
Creeping Backyard for a Halloween Theme Birthday
Creeping into the backyard, we rolled out luxurious black velvet linens over the tables, haunted by more skeletal pieces and flowers to keep the theme alive (or undead?). As the candles cast their ghostly glow, creating a macabre mood, we gathered around the fire pit – a cozy cauldron amidst the chills at this Halloween Theme Birthday.
It was a dead-good party of chic and geek, with a sprinkle of spooks. I can’t wait to see what ghoulish delights the big 4-0 will dig up!
